5 Careers that will Take You to Exotic Places



World travel is expensive and in some ways reserved for the elite. One way to get where you want to go is to pick a career field that will take you there. Here are five career choices that will get you on board to travel, adventure and exotic places.

International Flight Attendant
Flights from Paris to Rome, or New York to Dublin, the possibilities are endless. You may have to work your way up but making international flights your goal can get you into the skies of your dreams. Requires flight school training. 

Archaeologist
Study in exotic areas is very common in field archaeology. Places like the Middle East, the Holy Land, Egypt, maybe even Easter Island, Rome or Greece continue to reveal their ageless secrets through those who learn to speak the language of time. Requires a minimum BS and preferably an MS or PhD in Archaeology. Volunteer and intern positions are also a possibility.

Photo-Journalist/Travel Writer
Either of these can put you in the midst of excitement, news or adventure around the world. Minumum BA in Journalism/Photo Journalism. Begin submitting your articles or photos during your studies to build contacts and resume.

Group Tour Operator
This is a self-starter business. Leading tour groups can take you anywhere you want to go, there is no limit. Groups of ten to fifty travel to all corners of the world. Tour operators enjoy additional perks like free lodging and transportation and admissions to various attractions. No educational requirements though study in the field of travel or hospitality is a plus. Start on at a tour company to learn the ropes before advancing on your own.

Yoga Retreat Leader
Once a certified yoga instructor, you are qualified to lead groups on retreat to many exotic places like Hawaii, Italy or Mexico. Enjoy the freedom of self-employment as you travel the world. Requires yoga teacher training and certification.
